Description
Bank of Guyana. First issue in 1917. Engraver: B. Arnaud. Dimensions: 110 x 70 mm. No watermark. Front and back: print in black and blue. Front: floral frame printed in blue with the value "1" in medallion in the four angles. Security background in blue with "Bank of Guyana" in continuous rehearsal on the vignette. The wording, face value, signatures and banknote number are printed in black. In the center of the bill, a monogram "BG" with the year "1917" on each side printed in blue. Two variants of signatures with The Director and The Cashier. Back: frame with geometric patterns printed in blue. In the center, the insignia of the Republic with the value "1" on each side are printed in gray. Security background identical to the front. Article 139 of the Penal Code is not present on the note. Specimen encountered: unsigned and unnumbered specimen with cancellation perforations at the signature location, specimen without signatures or number, overprinted "CANCELED" in oblique red in the center. Full proof recto and verso on large margins, without watermark, pasted on hardback page, without signature or numbering.
