Description
Bank of Guyana. No date (1960). Issued note in 1960 and identical to the Pick: #23 but with the watermark overprinted in blue "CONTRE-VALEUR DE 1 NOUVEAU FRANC". Work of William Fel. Dimensions: 164 x 88 mm. Watermark with a woman's head wearing a phrygian cap. Front and back: multicolored printing. Front: The word "GUYANA" repeated four times and the value "100" are printed in red. Numbering and signature are printed in black. On the left, portrait of La Bourdonnais, french navigator of the eighteenth century and on the right two women in traditional costume. One signature: The Director General: A. Postel-Vinay. Back: female bust in profile wearing jewelry in front of a mountainous landscape of the West Indies. On the left, article 139 of the Penal Code is printed in a red cartridge. Specimen of the issued note signed and numbered O.0 - 00000 with "SPECIMEN" in vertical perforations on the sides of the note and sometimes overprinted with two damp black pads in the corners. Banknotes found: K.4-87632, L.4-54108, L.4-77539, M.4-30626, O.4-20472. Issue note quite rare!
