Description of the front: in the center, a portrait of Viola Desmond (1914-1965), the face of the Black struggle in Canada for her action against racial segregation in the 1940s. In the background, a map of the north end history of the city of Halifax where lived Viola Desmond. In the upper left corner, the value "10" in white is printed identically in blue on the back.
