Description
Switzerland. Swiss National Bank (Schweizerische Nationalbank). Second issue (1910-1955). Banknote dated 01-04-1921 but not issued and kept in reserve. Work of Gabriel Lory (son) and Friedrich Moritz. Printer: Waterlow & Sons Ltd., London. Dimensions: 135 x 82 mm. No watermark. No security thread. Front and back: print in brown and yellow. Front: frame with rosettes and ornaments. The numbering, the alphabet, the labels, the place and date of issue and the signatures are printed in brown. The value "10" is repeated three times at the corners in rosettes. In the center at the top, the Swiss cross in a coat of arms. The texts are printed in three languages: French, German and Italian. Law text: "Gesetzgebung über die Schweizerische Nationalbank". On the left below, portrait in medallion of a woman from Neuchâtel. Three variants of signatures with The Cashier, The Chairman of the Board of the Bank and The Director. Back: frame composed of rosettes and ornaments with the value "10" roughly in the center and repeated four times in medallion in the corners. In the center at the top, the Swiss cross in a coat of arms. Known unnumbered and unsigned specimen with "SPECIMEN" overprint in red and diagonally on the front and back with sometimes star-shaped cancellation perforations.
