Belgian Congo. Bank of the Belgian Congo. 1940-1952 Issues. Banknote identical to Pick # 14. Dimensions: 130 x 84 mm. Material: paper. Watermark: okapi head. Printer: Waterlow & Sons Ld, London Wall, London. No security thread. The note is dated 10-07-42 in black. Front and back printing predominantly brown, green, blue and orange. Texts in French. Description of the front: guilloche frame with the value "10" repeated in the upper corners. In the center, the issuing institute "BANK OF THE BELGIAN CONGO" and below the value "TEN FRANCS" and the words "PAYABLES AT SIGHT". On the left, Watutsi dancers in traditional costume perform their choreography in front of a crowd and the huts of a village. Black overprint in the center: "SECOND ISSUE - 1942". On the right, the watermark is decorated with patterns in blue and orange. Bottom left, the monogram "BCB" and right, a Congolese star printed in brown in a geometric pattern. The banknote number is printed twice in red. The signatures are printed in black. At the bottom, the article of the penal code is printed on a line at the edge of the frame. A single combination of signatures with The Deputy Officer in Africa René Goeman and The Officer in Africa Richard Baseleer.
