Description

Guernsey. States of Guernsey. 1969-1975 Issues. British Administration. Undated note. Dimensions: 150 x 90 mm. Watermark: States of / Guernsey. Printer: Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co, Surrey, England. Solid security thread. Material: paper. Full color front and back print, predominantly blue, green and yellow. Description of the front: allegory of Guernsey represented by a helmeted woman holding a lance and the seal of the Bailiwick. A sea anchor is placed in the foreground. Around, a composition of arabesques with two winged lions surrounding the value in red on the right. Texts in English, guilloche patterns. The numbering is printed in black. A single signature with Treasurer Charles Henry Hodder. Description of the back: monochrome print in blue with a view of the Battle of Queenston Heights in 1812. On the right, a portrait of Major General Sir Isaac Brock in military uniform. The specimen is known overprinted "SPECIMEN" in red on the front and back and numbered "A 00000". 571,400 issued notes put into circulation on April 3, 1975.
