Belgian Congo. Central Bank of Belgian Congo and Rwanda-Burundi. 1952-1960 Issues. Banknote identical to Pick # 17. Dimensions: 159 x 101 mm. Material: paper. Watermark: zebra head. Printer: Waterlow & Sons Ld, London Wall, London. No security thread. The note is dated in black. Front and back printing predominantly yellow, green and blue. Texts in French. Description of the front: frame composed of guilloche patterns in repetition with the value "100" repeated in opposite angles. At the top border, the issuing institute "CENTRAL BANK OF BELGIAN CONGO AND RWANDA-URUNDI". On the left, a security background composed of two Congolese stars and the number "100". Above, the value “HUNDRED FRANCS” and the mention “PAYABLES AT SIGHT”. The signatures are printed in black below. On the right, the watermark and the date of issue. In the center, two mahouts on their elephant in front of a palm tree. The series and banknote number are printed four times in black. The article of the penal code is printed in white on two lines in the frame. Several combinations of signatures with The Senior Officer and The Governor. Description of the back: the watermark on the left. Texts in Dutch. The value "100" is repeated at opposite angles. In the foreground, a herd of zebus and in the distance, a young cowherd watching over them.
