Italy. Banca d'Italia. 1943-1947 Issues. Banknote identical to Pick # 55 but with the "BI" seal on the back. Work by Giovanni Capranesi. Dimensions: 184 x 111 mm. Watermark: on the left, head of Italia and on the right, head of Dante Alighieri. Printer: Officina della Banca d'Italia L'Aquila. No security thread. Material: paper. Full color front and back printing, mainly orange, green and red. Description of the front: olive-green security background composed of patterns and the number "100" in repetition. In the center, a seal in red with the head in profile of Italia. On the sides, the two watermarks framed by a crown of leaves. In the center at the bottom, an reclining allegory and helmeted Victory holds a lance and a Winged Victory. On the side, the statue of the Capitolina she-wolf with Romulus and Rémus suckling his milk. Texts in Italian. The numbering and signatures are printed in black. Two signatures with The Governor Vincenzo Azzolini and The Cashier Urbini. Description of the back: security frame and background composed of patterns and vegetation with the value "100" oblique in the corners.
