Algeria. French administration. Bank of Algeria. Creation date: 02-12-1946. Issue date: 15-09-1948. Work by William Fel and engraving by Marliat for the front and Broutin for the back. Dimensions: 185 x 92 mm. Watermark: profile of a Moorish woman in a medallion on the left. Front and back: polychrome print predominantly yellow and gray. Description of the front: a floral frame with a background of stylized flowers in rehearsal. The wording of the issuing institute "BANQUE DE L'ALGÉRIE", the value "MILLE FRANCS", the numbering, the signatures and the date of issue are printed in black. On the right, the profile head of the goddess of magic, Isis. Below in the frame, article 139 of the Penal Code is printed in black on two lines. Only one combination of signatures is known with Delahaye, The Secretary General, Brunet, The Director General and Couquet, The Cashier General. Description of the back: a floral frame with a background of stylized flowers in rehearsal. In this context, the wording of the issuing institute "BANQUE DE L'ALGÉRIE" is translated into Arabic. On the left, a plowing scene after an ancient mosaic kept at the Cherchell Public Museum. Below in the frame, article 139 of the Penal Code translated into Arabic is printed in blue on two lines. The specimen is known as overprinted "SPECIMEN" in red in vertical at the location of the watermark on the front and back. The note is watermarked, signed Delahaye / Brunet / Couquet, dated "0.0-0-0000.0" and numbered "O.00 - 000". A second specimen identical to the previous one is known, but perforated "SPÉCIMEN" vertically on the left and numbered "SPÉCIMEN N ° 0001" on the head on the right.
