Front and back: multicolored printing. On the front: background composed of flowers with three gazelles in the background. In the center, a young African girl from the front and wearing numerous jewels is leaning on two large earthenware jars. At the top center, the issuing institute "ISSUING INSTITUTE OF FRENCH WEST AFRICA AND TOGO" is printed in red. On the left, a white area is reserved for the watermark. The value "1000" is printed in dark blue in orange cartridges in the upper corners. The numbering, date and signatures are printed in black. The value in letters is printed in dark red on the right side. A single type of signature with The President, Robert Tezenas du Montcel and The Director General, Robert Julienne. On the back: an indigenous woman in ceremonial costume poses in front of the huts of her village against the backdrop of lush vegetation. The value in figures is repeated in dark blue in the upper corners. At the top, the issuing institute "ISSUING INSTITUTE OF FRENCH WEST AFRICA AND TOGO" is printed in red on three lines in the thumbnail. In the bottom right under the watermark area, article 139 of the Penal Code is mentioned on five lines in a pale yellow cartridge. The specimen on issued note is known dated "0-00-0000", numbered "O.00-000", perforated "SPECIMEN" diagonally with the signatures of R. Tezenas du Montcel and R. Julienne. A finished proof of the front and back is known in a private collection.
