Mali. Bank of the Republic of Mali. 1960-1967 Issues. First Type. Dimensions: 160 x 105 mm. Material: paper. Watermark: no. Printer: Statni Tiskarna Cenin, Prague, Czechoslovakia. No security thread. The note is dated September 22, 1960. Front and back printing in duotone predominantly blue. Texts in French. Description of the front: security background composed of a small floral pattern in blue and yellow gradient. Guilloche frame with the value "1,000" oblique in the corners. In the center at the top, the words "BANK OF THE REPUBLIC OF MALI" are printed in white in the frame. Below, a frieze composed with "THOUSAND FRANCS" in rehearsal. The value in letters, the date of issue and the signatures are printed in blue. The banknote number and series are printed in red. At the bottom, the article of the penal code is printed on a line in the frame in the center. On the left, an official portrait of President Modibo Keita. On the right, a plowing scene with two peasants and their two oxen pulling the plow. A single combination of signatures with the Minister of Finance, Attaher Maïga and The Governor of the Bank, Lamine Sow. Description of the back: guilloche frame with the value "1,000" oblique in the corners.
