Mali. Bank of the Republic of Mali. 1967-1970 Issues. Second Type. Dimensions: 160 x 103 mm. Material: paper. Watermark: man's head. Printer: Thomas de La Rue, Limited. Yellow solid security thread. The note is dated September 22, 1960. Polychrome front and back printing, predominantly blue and pink. Texts in French. Description of the front: security background in blue and pink gradient and with repeating patterns. Guilloche frame with the value "1,000" printed in two rosettes in the corners. At the top, the words "BANK OF THE REPUBLIC OF MALI" are printed in dark blue on a frieze. On the left, the watermark. The banknote number and issue date are printed in black. The value in letters and the signatures are printed in dark blue in the center and below a rosette in dark blue. In the center, the building of the Bank of the Republic of Mali. Below, the article of the penal code is printed on a line at the edge of a frieze. On the right, an official portrait of President Modibo Keita. A single combination of signatures with the Minister of State, Jean-Marie Koné, The Minister of Finance, Attaher Maïga and The Governor of the Bank, Alpha Oumar Cissé. Description of the back: guilloche frame with the value "1,000" in the corners and the value in letters at the bottom in a frieze. In the center, the Great Mosque of Djenné, the largest building in the world built in raw earth (Adobe). The specimen is known as overprinted "SPECIMEN" in red diagonally in the center, numbered "A000000" and may optionally include the red oval stamp of the English printer Thomas de La Rue (TDLR) and a specimen number in red at the bottom margin.
