Italy. Banca d'Italia. 1962-1985 Issues. Work by G. Savini and Cionini. Dimensions: 112 x 61 mm. Watermark: portrait of Marco Polo and electrotype BI monogram. Printer: Officina della Banca d'Italia. Solid security thread. Material: paper. Full-color front and back printing, predominantly green, brown, orange, black and purple. Description of the front: security background made up of dragons and griffins. On the right, the portrait of Marco Polo. In the center,the seal of the four Maritime Republics (Amalfi, Genoa, Pisa and Venice) and below the value "1000" in vertical. On the left, the location of the watermark and the signatures printed in black. Two combinations of signatures with The Governor and The Cashier. Description of the back: vertical composition. A view of the Doge's Palace in Venice with the value "1000" printed above. The text of the penal code and the banknote number are printed on the sides. No specimen known for the Type. Replacement note with X series.
