Description on the front: safety background made up of puzzle piece shapes and a child's silhouette. On the right, the portrait of the Italian doctor and pedagogue Maria Montessori (1870-1952). The banknote number is repeated twice in black at the bottom. In the center in purple, the seal of the four Maritime Republics (Amalfi, Genoa, Pisa and Venice). On the left, the location of the watermark with the value "1000" above and below, the signatures printed in purple. Three combinations of signatures with The Governor and The Cashier. Back description: security background made up of puzzle pieces with children student in the foreground.
