No security thread. 75,000 issued notes. Printer: Banco de España. Front and back printing in black, green and brown. Texts in Spanish. Description of the front: frame composed of continuously guilloche patterns with the value "1000" in the corners. On the left, a portrait of the Spanish novelist, poet and playwright Miguel de Cervantes (1547-1616) famous for his novel "The Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha" published in 1605. In the center from top to bottom, the issuing institute " EL BANCO DE ESPAÑA ”, an oval medallion with Sancho Pancha on his donkey followed by Don Quijote, the value in letters“ MIL PESETAS ”, then the place and date of issue. Three signatures in black. A single combination of signatures with El Gobernador (The Governor), El Interventor (The Comptroller) and El Cajero (The Cashier). Counterfoils left and right with "BANCO DE ESPAÑA" in vertical. On the right, the words "Pagará al portador (will pay to the bearer)" and the numbering in black repeated twice. Description of the back: frame composed of continuously guilloche patterns with the value "1000" in the corners. Safety background in brown composed of small patterns. Monograms "BE" of the Bank of Spain in two rosettes. In the center, a large rosette with the value "1000" and two medallions containing a profile portrait of Apollo. No specimen known for the Type.
