Front printing in yellow and black. Description of the front: Left, a portrait of Andrew Jackson (1767-1845), American statesman, seventh President of the United States from 1829 to 1837. The Act of March 3, 1863 is located at the top center. Ornamental frame with the value "10,000" and the text "UNITED STATES" alternating. Seal variety: large in brown and numbering in blue (A000000) on yellow ornamentation. A large black rosette with the number "10,000" on the right. Only one signature combination known with the Register of the Treasury (Scofield) and the Treasurer of the United States (Gilfillan). Description of the back: In the center, the American eagle resting on a banner of the United States. In the background, a view of the Rocky Mountains and a view of the sea with two sailboats. Value "10,000" in vertical on the left side and in border, the text of law in vertical: "This Note is a Legal Tender ...". On the right, a medallion with the value "TEN X THOUSAND". The back is black monochrome print. The photo note is from the National Museum of American History. Uniface proofs on the obverse and reverse. All issued copies of this note have been refunded.
