Description
French Polynesia. Overseas Issuing Institute. 1986-2013 Issues. The note is overprinted on the front with the black mention “RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE (FRENCH REPUBLIC)”. Work of Pierrette Lambert. For the first time, the acronym CFP (Change Franc Pacifique) appears on a banknote from the Overseas Territories. The main theme of this note is the Polynesian woman on the front and the Caledonian woman on the back. Dimensions: 172 x 92 mm. Watermark: heads of Polynesian and Caledonian women in profile. Solid security thread. The note is undated but was issued from 1986. Full color front and back printing mainly orange and yellow. Texts in French. Description of the front: on the upper border, the label "OVERSEAS ISSUING INSTITUTE" is printed in black in a yellow cartouche. Below, the full banknote number is printed in black in the drawing. On the left, a profile portrait of a woman from Polynesia. She wears an ornament composed of a crown of flowers (tiaré tahiti). The words "FRENCH REPUBLIC" in black printed under the portrait on the left. In the center, a representation of bungalows on stilts in reference to the Polynesian hotels of Bora-Bora and an overprinted medallion bearing the emblem of French Polynesia. The value “10,000 CFP” is printed in black in the upper right corner. The value in letters "ONE THOUSAND FRANCS CFP" is printed in black at the bottom of the drawing. The numbering and the alphabet are printed in black in small yellow rectangles at the bottom of the note. On the right, around the watermark, a background composed of braiding of coconut palm leaves and tapa patterns. Eight combinations of signatures printed in black with The Chief Officer, The Officer and The Chairman of the Board. Description of the back: on the right, a portrait of a woman from New Caledonia whose hair is decorated with a hibiscus flower. In the center, a wide variety of fish from the Caledonian lagoon. Under the portrait, flowers (birds of paradise) and an apex. On the upper border, a frame decorated with patterns, a hut and palm trees, includes the wording "OVERSEAS ISSUING INSTITUTE" and the overprint "FRENCH REPUBLIC". The value “10,000” is printed in brown in the upper corners. Bottom center, article 139 of the penal code is printed in blue on five lines in a yellow cartridge. Printer: Bank of France.
