Description of the front: On the left, a portrait of Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826), third President of the United States. The Act of March 3, 1863 is located vertically on the left edge. In the center a view of the Capitol in Washington. Large seal and numbering in red. The frame has the words "UNITED - TWO - STATES" in repetition and the number "2" repeated in the corners. A large black rosette with the number "2" on the right. Signature combinations engraved with Allison (Register of the Treasury) and Spinner (Treasurer of the United States). Description of the back: the issuing company of the banknotes is indicated twice at the bottom of the back. Security bottom composed of a rosette with the value "TWO" vertically on the right side and the value in Roman numerals on the left "II".
