Description
Switzerland. State Loan Bank of Swiss Federation. (Schweizerische Eidgenossenschaft). Issue of 1938. The banknote is dated 27-05-1938 but will never be issued. Printer: Art Institute Orell Füssli AG, Zurich. Dimensions: 105 x 65 mm. No watermark. No security thread. Front and back: print predominantly red-brown. On the front: a frame composed of rosettes and red-brown ornaments. On a background of wavy red-brown lines, the wording, the value in letters and the Decree of the Federal Council of May 27th, 1938, are printed in black and in three languages: German, French and Italian. The numbering is printed in black at the bottom of the thumbnail in a cartridge. The value "2" and the Swiss cross are repeated twice in white at opposite angles inside a rose. No signatures. On the back: red-brown frame composed of rosettes and repetitive ornaments. The white "2" value is roughly placed in the center of an oval. Around, the value in letters is printed in three languages: French, German and Italian. The specimen is known in series "A" unnumbered and unsigned with the surcharge "SPECIMEN" in red diagonally on both sides. Other Reference: TBB (The Banknote Book): B206.
