Watermark: head of Mercury in profile. Material: paper. Printer: Bank of France. Banknote including the decrees of January 21, 1875, February 20, 1888, May 16, 1900 and April 3, 1901. Put into circulation from March 23, 1914. Two-color printing front and back predominantly blue and black. Description of the front: background composed of small geometric patterns in repetition. All texts are printed in black and in French. On the left, a decorated frame has two numerical values and the watermark. Below, the god Neptune holding his trident is seated on two sea snakes. On the right, the decrees, the wording of the issuing institute in capital letters "BANK OF INDO-CHINA", the place and date of issue, the value in letters "TWENTY FRANCS" and the words "PAYABLE IN LOCAL CURRENCY TO THE HOLDER ". Below, three printed signatures. A single type of signature with the Cashier of the branch, a Board Member, Baron Hely d'Oissel and the Board Member and Officer, Stanislas Simon. Description of the back: monochrome blue print of a drawing composed of two Chinese celestial dragons which surround two medallions. In the center, article 139 of the French penal code is printed twice in blue and on five lines in two rectangles. Below, a rectangle with the text "BANK OF INDO-CHINA" printed in repetition. On the sides, two other rectangles with the value "20 FRANCS". Artists' signatures at the bottom of the note. The specimen is known to be perforated "SPECIMEN" horizontally, dated "February 31, 1905" and numbered "O.00 - 000". A second specimen is known perforated "SPECIMEN" horizontally, dated "July 3, 1905" and numbered "O.0 - 000". A last specimen is known perforated "CANCELLED" vertically, dated "September 31, 1905" and numbered "O.0 - 000". Rare banknote. 200,000 issued notes.
