Front: frame with rosettes and ornaments. The numbering, the alphabet, the labels, the place and date of issue and the signatures are printed in dark blue. The inset value "20" is repeated in three corners of the thumbnail. The texts are printed in three languages: French, German and Italian. Law text: "Gesetzgebung über die Schweizerische Nationalbank". On the right at the top, a medallion portrait of "Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi (1746-1827)", Swiss thinker and pioneer of modern pedagogy. Three types of signatures on one of the specimens with The Cashier K.Bornhauser, The Chairman of the Board Paul Usteri Bank and The Director Gottlieb Bachmann. Back: frame composed of rosettes and ornaments with value "20" repeated four times in medallion in the corners. In the center, the Swiss cross in white in an oval whose frame takes the names of the SNB in three languages. Known specimen not issued dated 01-01-1925, unnumbered and unsigned with red "SPECIMEN" overprinted diagonally on front and back with sometimes cancellation perforations. Another specimen identical but dated 01-01-1926. A third specimen is known unnumbered with signature variant # 10 and overprinted "SPECIMEN" red diagonally on the front and back.
