Switzerland. Swiss National Bank (Schweizerische Nationalbank). Third issue (1918-1952). Banknote dated 21-06-1929 but put into circulation from 15-07-1930. Permanently removed from circulation on 01-04-1956. Work of Felix Maria Diogg. Printer: Art Institute Orell Füssli in Zurich. Dimensions: 143 x 86 mm. No watermark. No security thread. Front and back: print in blue, red, green and brown. Front: frame with rosettes and ornaments. Labels, place, date of issue and signatures are printed in dark blue. The numbering and the alphabet are printed in black. Inset number "20" is printed in the lower right corner of the thumbnail. The texts are printed in three languages: French, German and Italian. Law text: "Gesetzgebung über die Schweizerische Nationalbank". On the right at the top, medallion portrait of "Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi (1746-1827)", Swiss thinker and pioneer of modern pedagogy. This portrait is different from the banknote kept in reserve (Ref. Pick: # 38). Twenty issue dates and fourteen signatures variants with The Cashier, The President of the Bank Council and The Director. Back: frame composed of rosettes and ornaments with the value "20" repeated four times in the corners of the bill in red and green. In the center, the Swiss cross in white in a medallion whose frame in rosettes and ornaments, takes the names of the SNB in ​​three languages. Known specimen not issued dated 21-06-1929, unnumbered and unsigned with the surcharge "SPECIMEN" in red diagonally on the front and back with sometimes perforations cancellation. 354153 banknotes were not returned.
