About #92AS - 20 francs Type 1943 test
Algeria. Allied Occupation. Bank of Algeria. Banknote not issued and kept in reserve. Creation date: 17-03-1943. Dimensions: 128 x 87 mm. Watermark: profile of a Moorish woman in a square medallion in the lower left, but only on the specimen. Front and back: predominantly green polychrome printing. Description of the front: frame of small repeating rectangles. Security background composed of arabesques in rehearsal. The signatures, numbering and date of issue are printed in black. The wording of the issuing institute "BANQUE DE L'ALGÉRIE", the value "20" and article 139 of the Penal Code are printed in dark green. In the center, the value "VINGT FRANCS" and the wording of the signatures are printed in red. A single type of signature with De Roux, The Secretary General and Sebald, The Chief Cashier. Description of the back: security background composed of arabesques in rehearsal. The specimen is identical to the issued note, but bearing the watermark of a profile of a Moorish woman. The note is perforated "SPÉCIMEN" in the center upside down, signed De Roux / Sebald, dated "17-03-1943" and numbered "O.000 - 000". The copy which illustrates this file achieved the price of € 3,120 at cgb.fr, Papier-Monnaie # 18 of 2011 (lot # p18_0315).
