Belgian Congo. Central Bank of Belgian Congo and Rwanda-Burundi. 1952-1960 Issues. Banknote identical to Pick # 15. Dimensions: 140 x 90 mm. Material: paper. Watermark: elephant head. Printer: Thomas de La Rue and Cie Limited, London (TDLR). No security thread. The note is dated in black in the center. Front and back printing predominantly blue, green and orange. Texts in French. Description of the front: frame composed of repeating patterns with the Congolese star repeated in the corners and the "BCB" monogram on the sides. On the upper border, the issuing institute "CENTRAL BANK OF BELGIAN CONGO AND RWANDA-BURUNDI" and below the value "TWENTY FRANCS" and the words "PAYABLES AT SIGHT". Below, a large pirogue with seven paddlers in action on the Congo River at dusk. On the right, the watermark. At the bottom left, the value "20 FRANCS". The series and banknote number are printed twice in black. The signatures are printed in black. At the bottom, the article of the penal code is printed on a line in the frame. A single combination of signatures with The Senior Officer Hector Martin and The Governor Paul Charles. Description of the back: frame identical to the front with the Congolese star repeated in the corners and the monogram "BCB" on the sides. Texts in Dutch.
