Italy. Banca d'Italia. 1962-1985 Issues. Dimensions: 133 x 65 mm. Watermark: head of Evangelista Torricelli. Printer: Officina della Banca d'Italia. Solid security thread. Material: paper. Full color front and back print, predominantly brown, green and orange. Front description: gradient security background composed of irregular lines. In the center, a portrait of the Italian mathematician Galileo (1564-1642). On the left, the value in figures, the texts of the issuing institute in dark green and above, the Pendulum weighing from Galileo. On the right, the Cathedral (Duomo) of Pisa and the leaning tower (Torre Pendente). Below, the seal in dark green of the four Maritime Republics (Amalfi, Genoa, Pisa and Venice). The banknote number and signatures are printed in black. The value "2000" is printed on the left in a green rosette. Three combinations of signatures with The Governor and The Cashier. Description of the back: on the left, an old map of the zodiacs, a telescope and a view of the Arcetri observatory near Florence. In the middle, the text of the penal code inside a stylized flower. No specimen known for the Type. Replacement note with X series.
