Canada. Dominion of Canada. 1923-1925 issues. 25 Cents Type 1923 "Shinplaster". Date: July 2nd, 1923. Printer: Canadian Bank Note Company, Limited (CBNC). Dimensions: 111 x 62 mm. Watermark: unknown. No security thread. The 25-cent notes were printed by a sheet of ten banknotes with a Check Letter (A, B, C, D or E) printed from top to bottom on the left half of the sheet and a Check Letter (H, J, K, L or M) printed from top to bottom on the right half of the sheet. These Check Letters are placed in red in front of the note number. Front: print in black and yellow. Frame composed of rosettes with the value "25" printed in the corners. At the top, "The Dominion of Canada" is printed in black. In the center, an allegory of Britannia holding a trident and below the value in letters "TWENTY FIVE CENTS" printed horizontally in black. On the left of the drawing, the number of the bill printed in red and the value "25" in very big golden numbers. Below is AUTHORIZED BY R.S.C. CAP. 31. On the right, the black seal of the Department of Finance, and next to it, the serial letter and the group number "A-I". Two signatures with G. W. Hyndman, The Controller of Currency and J. C. Saunders, The Deputy Minister of Finance. Back: green monochrome print. The background is composed of characteristic shapes of the ABNC style. The value "CENTS 25 CENTS" is printed twice on the sides in rosettes. In the center, a large rosette with the value "25" in the four cardinal corners. "Dominion of Canada" is missing on the back!
