French West Africa. Bank of West Africa. 1933-1945 Issues. 25 francs Type 1933 with face value in blue. Work by Sébastien Laurent and engraving by Émile Deloche. Printer: Bank of France, Paris. Dimensions: 140 x 90 mm. Watermark with a young woman's head in profile. Front and back: multicolored print, mainly red, yellow and blue. On the front: wall of a mosque with window in orange background with in the foreground, a front portrait of a young rider wearing a turban and his horse. Bottom center in blue, the issuing institute "BANQUE DE L'AFRIQUE OCCIDENTALE (BANK OF WEST AFRICA)". The value "25" is printed in blue in the upper corners. The numbering and signatures are printed in black. Two variants of signatures with the President and the Chief Executive Officer. On the back: a majestic lion poses in front of an arid landscape. At the bottom, article 139 of the Penal Code is printed in a white cartridge. Known specimens on issued note, perforated with signatures of A. Duchêne / E. Poilay or signatures of G. Keller / E. Poilay and "SPECIMEN" written in red on the watermark. Same specimen as the previous one with "SPECIMEN" written in red on the watermark in capital letters.
