French West Africa. Bank of West Africa. 1943-1954 Issues. 25 francs Type 1946. Work by Sébastien Laurent and engraving by G. Regnier for the front and C. Chapon for the back. Printer: Bank of France, Paris. Dimensions: 128 x 77 mm. Watermark: portrait of a young native from the front. Front and back: multicolored printing. On the front: frame of oak leaves and laurel leaves in blue, green and red. In the center, a young African woman poses from the front against a background of orange oak leaves. Above in the center frame in brown in a blue cartouche, the issuing institute "BANQUE DE L'AFRIQUE OCCIDENTALE (BANK OF WEST AFRICA)". On the right, location of the watermark in a circle decorated with a border of yellow flowers. The value "25" is printed in brown in yellow boxes in the upper corners. The numbering, date and signatures are printed in black. Two variants of signatures with the President and the Chief Executive Officer. On the back: a young man and a zebu pose against a background of bamboo and multicolored flowers. The value in figures is repeated in red in the upper corners. At the top, the issuing institute "BANQUE DE L'AFRIQUE OCCIDENTALE" is printed in blue in a yellow cartridge. In bottom on the right, article 139 of the Penal Code is mentioned in very small on three lines in a yellow cartridge. The specimen on ticket issued is known dated “00-0-0000”, numbered “O.000-000”, perforated “SPECIMEN”. A test is known dated “00-0-0000”, numbered “O.000-000”. Another proof is known unsigned, worthless and without overload. A complete single-sided proof is known.
