Spain. First Republic. Bank of Spain. 1874 Issues. Date: 01.07.1874. Dimensions: 125 x 80 mm. Material: paper. Watermark: 25. No security thread. 193,000 issued notes. Printer: Banco de España. Front and back printing in black and gray-blue. Texts in Spanish. Description of the front: no frame. In the center at the top, the issuing institute "EL BANCO DE ESPAÑA" printed in black. Below, "Pagará al portador (will pay to the bearer)", the value in words "VEINTICINCO PESETAS", the place and date of issue. No banknote number. On the sides, two young boys standing support trays on their heads: allegories of Fishing (right) and Agriculture (left). The signatures are printed in black. A single combination of signatures with El Gobernador (The Governor), El Interventor (The Comptroller) and El Cajero (The Cashier). Counterfoil at left with “BANCO DE ESPAÑA” in vertical. Description of the back: frame composed of small patterns with the value "25" in the corners. Security background with the text "BANCO DE ESPAÑA" repeated continuously. In the center, a large rosette with the value "25" in the middle and the value in letters on the sides. Texts in Spanish. A proof of the front with large margins is known without overload, without signature of the Cashier without perforation and without numbering.
