French West Africa. Bank of West Africa. 1941-1943 Issues. 5 francs Type 1934 with face value in red. Work by Sébastien Laurent and engraving by Deloche. Printer: Bank of France, Paris. Dimensions: 120 x 80 mm. Watermark: head of a young African man from the front. Front and back: multicolored print, mainly green, yellow and red. On the front: frame composed of repetitive red geometric shapes. Floral composition background with in the foreground, a front portrait of a young native girl wearing a hat and necklaces. Above in the center in blue, the issuing institute "BANQUE DE L'AFRIQUE OCCIDENTALE (BANK OF WEST AFRICA)". The value "5" is printed in red in the two upper corners. The numbering, date and signatures are also printed in red. A single type of signature with The President, Georges Keller and The Director General, Edwin Poilay. Back: African at work on his loom. At the bottom, article 139 of the Penal Code is printed in a yellow cartridge. No specimen known for this Type.
