The note is dated by Decree of April 7, 1942. Printing in duotone single front mainly orange and green. Texts in French in green. Description of the front: drawing composed of a stylized Polynesian canoe with the two sculpted prows. In the center, a hand holds a torch and in the foreground, a Lorraine cross in a coat of arms. Top center, the wording of the issuing institute "Cash vouchers of Free French Settlements in Oceania". Below, the value "0,50" repeated twice on the left and on the right with the value in letters in the center and the date of the Decree. The banknote number is printed in green at the bottom in a cartridge. The series is printed below on the sides in stylized sea waves. Two handwritten signatures in black are known to The Treasurer-Payer: Jean-Henri Liauzun and another unidentified signature. Description of the back: a single text "Issue made under the responsibility of the Colony of Free French Settlements in Oceania and guaranteed by a deposit corresponding to the Treasury. (The law punishes counterfeiters.) ”. The back may sometimes include a circular stamp in black from the office of "VAITAPE - ILE BORA-BORA" and dated in the center.
