Bank of Martinique. No date (1946). Issued note in 1946. Work of William Fel. Dimensions: 144 x 78 mm. Watermark with Ceres head in profile on the right. 5,167,452 issued notes. Front and back: multicolored printing. Front: The word "MARTINIQUE" repeated three times in the margin and the value "50" are printed in blue. Numbering, signature and a fourth word "MARTINIQUE" are printed in black. On the left, portrait of Belain d'Esnanbuc, french settler and buccaneer at the origin of the french presence in the West Indies. On the right a caravel sailing at full speed on the ocean. One signature: The Director General: A. Postel-Vinay. Back: Naked woman wearing jewelry and tribal decorations in front of a village hut. On the right, article 139 of the Penal Code printed in a clear cartridge. The word "MARTINIQUE" repeated four times is printed in blue. Specimen of the issued note numbered O.000 - 00000 with "SPECIMEN" diagonally perforated in the center of the note and sometimes two vertical damp black pads on the sides. Number range of issued notes: 10,000.001 to 13.000.000, 100.000.001 to 102.260.000.
