Switzerland. Swiss National Bank (Schweizerische Nationalbank). Fourth issue (1938-1950). Banknote created on 15-03-1945 but not issued and kept in reserve. Work by Hans Erni. Printer: Art Institute Orell Füssli AG, Zurich. Dimensions: 167 x 96 mm. No watermark. No security thread. Front and back: Multicolored print predominantly green. Front: background in green, yellow and red gradient composed of wavy lines. Around, a green frame composed of rosettes and ornaments. Only the numbering is printed in black. The SNB's translation texts and the values in letters are printed in green on the front and in three languages: German, French and Italian. The issue date and signatures are printed in green. The numerical value "50" is repeated three times at the corners in rosettes. In the center on the right, a medallion portrait of a young woman. Three variants of signatures with The Cashier, The Chairman of the Board of the Bank and The Director. On the back: frame composed of rosettes and ornaments with the value "50" repeated four times in the corners. In the center, a farmer and his bull walk in a meadow with the Swiss mountains in the background. In the box at the top and bottom, The SNB texts in three languages: German, French and Italian. Known specimen signed, unnumbered with the "SPECIMEN" overprinted in red diagonally on the front and horizontally on the back with five star-cancellation perforations: copy seen on sale at CHF 15000 at Sincona, Auction # 21 in October 2014 (lot: # 5357).
