Front and back: print in orange and green. Front: green and red background consisting of graphic shapes and scrolls. The numbering, the alphabet, the place, the date of issue and the signatures are printed in black. The SNB texts and the value in letters are printed in green and in three languages: French, German and Italian. The value "50" is printed in three corners of the thumbnail and in very large numbers in the center in red. The value is repeated five times smaller on the right margin of the note. On the right side, in a vertical rectangle, a portrait of a girl wearing a wreath and at the bottom a rosette with the Swiss cross in white. Three issue dates and four signature variants with The Cashier, The President of the Bank Council and The Director. Back: the value "50" is repeated five times smaller on the left margin of the note. In a vertical rectangle beside, on a background of flowers in blue and red, the value in red in very big figures and bent at 90 °, as well as the names of the SNB in three languages and in green. On three-quarters of the vignette, a scene symbolizing fertility represented by apple picking in an orchard with a mother and her three children. Specimen numbered "9L 00000" with "SPECIMEN" overprint in red diagonally on the front and back. 546609 banknotes were not returned (Pick: # 47 and # 48).
