Front and back printing in red and gray. Description of the front: frame and decorative background made up of rosettes and repeating patterns. Texts in French. Value "50" in the corners. A lioness in the foreground on the right. Date in black. Prefix and numbering in black. Text prohibiting the counterfeiting of banknotes at the bottom center. Combinations of signatures with an Administrator and The Chairman: Firmin Peigneux / Hector Martin. Description of the back: monochrome printing in red. Back composed of four rosettes. Texts in French. Value "50" in the corners. Rare.
Note: this banknote overprinted in red "GOUVERNEMENT KATANGA" on the front and back of a banknote from the Bank of Emission of Rwanda and Burundi was not found in good condition. The visual illustration therefore corresponds to a banknote from Rwanda and Burundi without the overprint for Katanga!
