Fayette-Dessal: # VF.48, Pick: # 7, Schwan-Boling: # 1905, Rosenberg: # 871 or Grabowski: # SAR-12). Work by Rigal and engraving by Armanelli for the front and Chapon for the back. Dimensions: 130 x 85 mm. Printer: Banque de France. Watermark: two portraits of women on the left and right. Front and back: polychrome print with dominant orange, dark green and brown. Description of the front: two lines of small brown squares on the top and bottom margins. In the upper part, the value “50” is printed in dark green in the corners. On the sides, the two watermarks and the values in letters and numbers printed in dark green. Below, the banknote number on the left and the alphabet on the right. In the center of the note, against a background of roses, a profile portrait of a young woman holding in her hands a branch of laurels symbolizing peace. Above the profile, the control number printed in black and at the bottom center, the words "SARRE 1947" printed in dark green. The note does not have signatures or an issue date. Description of the back: composition identical to the front but the value in letters is printed in German "FÜNFZIG MARK". In the center on a background of green and pink leaves, a horse head and a male bust. The law article is printed in dark green on three lines in French and in German in two cartridges located under the watermarks. The specimen of the ticket is known numbered "0.000-00000" and perforated "SPECIMEN" diagonally. The banknote also exists in a uniface proof on the front and / or back with and without large margins, numbered “0.00-00000”, watermarked and non-perforated “SPECIMEN”.
