France. Public Treasury, issue of 1955-1963. 50 NF / 5000 francs Type 1960. Work of Louis Rigal and engraving of Armanelli for the front and Marliat for the back. Dimensions: 170 x 103 mm. No date. Watermark: woman's head on the left and man's head on the right. Printer: Bank of France. Front and back: Multicolored print predominantly pink. On the front: a peasant couple in profile in front of a decoration of flowers and at the bottom a view of the French countryside with fields cultivated as far as the eye can see. The man carries a tool on his right shoulder; the woman is wearing a headscarf. Both seem to look at the village in the background on the left of the vignette. The value in numbers is repeated twice in dark blue in the upper corners. At the bottom center in a pink cartouche, the words: "Valid in Germany for the French Forces and the persons authorized by them". The seven-digit banknote number and the alphabet are printed in black. On the right-hand watermark, an overprint in red "COUNTER-VALUE OF / 50 / NEW FRANCS". The note does not have signatures. On the back: a portrait of a woman in profile wearing a scarf with a child at her side. In the background, a decoration of flowers (grove of roses) and at the bottom a view of the French countryside. Specimen not found. This magnificent note is very rare, especially in beautiful grade and one of the most requested by collectors of the Treasury.
