Spain. Bank of Spain. 1880 (1883-1889) Issues. Date: 01.04.1880. Dimensions: 175 x 91 mm. Material: paper. Watermark: 50. No security thread. 1,100,000 issued notes. Printer: Banco de España. Front and back printing in black, red and purple. Texts in Spanish. Description of the front: frame composed of continuous guilloche patterns with the value "50" in the corners. On the left, a portrait of Charles III's Minister of Finance, Pedro Rodríguez de Campomanes (1723-1802). On the right from top to bottom, the numbering in black repeated twice in the frame, the issuing institute "EL BANCO DE ESPAÑA", the words "Pagará al portador (will pay to the bearer)", the value in letters "CINCUENTA PESETAS », Then the place and date of issue. Three signatures in black. A single combination of signatures with El Gobernador (The Governor), El Interventor (The Coùptroller) and El Cajero (The Cashier). Counterfoils left and right with "BANCO DE ESPAÑA" in vertical. Description of the back: frame made up of repeating floral motifs. Security background in purple. In the center, a rosette with the value "50". No specimen known for the Type.
