Spain. Bank of Spain. 1902-1905 Issues. Date: 19.03.1905. Dimensions: 150 x 91 mm. Material: paper. Watermark: head of Minerva / BANCO DE ESPAÑA. No security thread. Printer: Banco de España. Front and back printing in black, brown and green. Texts in Spanish. Description of the front: in the center, from top to bottom, "EL BANCO DE ESPAÑA", the words "Pagará al portador", the value in letters "CINCUENTA PESETAS", the value "50" roughly, the numbering in red then the place and date of issue. Watermark on the right. On the left, oak and palm branches surrounding a portrait of José de Echegaray y Eizaguirre, Spanish mathematician and important playwright of the late 19th century. Three signatures in black. A single combination of signatures with El Gobernador (The Governor), El Interventor (The Comptroller) and El Cajero (The Cashier). Description of the back: in the center, a winged coat of arms with the helmet and the caduceus of Mercury. Below, two seated cherubs. Watermark on the left and the value "50" on the right. Below on the sides, the coats of arms of the provinces of Castile, Aragon, León and Navarre. Red numbering repeated twice. No specimen known or encountered for the Type.
