Description

State Bank of Morocco. First Type with the mention "PAYABLES A VUE AU PORTEUR": issued from 1923 to 1937. Second Type without the mention "PAYABLES A VUE AU PORTEUR": issued from 1946 to 1948. Work of Laprade and engraving L. Leclerc for the front and G. Fraipont and engraving by L. Leclerc for the back. Dimensions: 210 x 120 mm. Watermark: A lion's head in profile. Multicolored front and back printing on white paper. Front: Frame composed of repetitive patterns. The value in letters and numbers are printed in red. The mention "PAYABLES A VUE AU PORTEUR" is printed in blue under the value in letters. The numbering and the alphabet are repeated twice at the bottom and at the top and are printed in black as the date of issue. In the center, a view of the city of Fez. The article of law is inscribed at the bottom of the cut in a gray cartouche. Back: Composition rich in arabic motifs opening on an arch.

The specimen of the first type with the mention "PAYABLE A VUE AU PORTEUR" is known dated 0-00-00, numbered 0.0 - 000 and perforated "SPECIMEN" vertically. A second specimen is known dated 0-00-00, numbered 0.0 - 000, perforated "SPECIMEN" vertically and overprinted in black "SPECIMEN" on both sides. A proof is known recto verso on fiduciary paper large margins, without watermark, glued on cardboard page with windows, dated 0-0-00, signed and numbered 0.0 - 000.

The specimen of the second type without the words "PAYABLE A VUE AU PORTEUR" is known as unperforated "SPECIMEN" and dated "10-11-48". A second specimen is known perforated "SPECIMEN" diadonally on the watermark. Finally, a watermarked proof is known with large margins but without date and without numbering.
