Bank of Guyana. No date (1942). First issue in 1942. Printed in black on cream paper. Security background with the mention "Bank of Guyana" reproduced continuously in yellow on the front. 5880 issued notes. Dimensions: 182 x 115 mm. Banknote without watermark. Printer: E.A Wright Banknote Co. of Philadelphia Printing Company. Front: black and white frame consisting of graphic lines with the value "500" in white in a cartridge at the bottom of the frame. In the center in a medallion, a seaplane flies over the sea. The value "500" is repeated twice in two other medallions and the title "Bank of Guyana" above wholesale. Numbering, alphabet and signatures are printed in black. Two variants of signatures with The Director, A Censor and The Cashier. Back: brown and white frame composed of graphic lines with the value "500" repeated twice. In the center in a medallion, a sailboat three masts and the title "Bank of Guyana" above. At the bottom, article 139 of the Penal Code printed on two lines. Safety background identical to the front but printed in blue violet. Unsigned specimen, numbered A1-0000 with several "SPECIMEN" red surcharges obliquely on the front. Another unsigned specimen, unnumbered and without the word "SPECIMEN" in red. An uniface proof of the back is known, unique! Very rare !
