State Bank of Morocco. Banknote issued from 1949 to 1958. Work of A. Maillart and engraving of R. Armanelli for the front and A. Maillart and engraving of A. Marliat for the back. Dimensions: 142 x 92 mm. Watermark: A lion's head in profile. Multicolored front and back printing on white paper. Front: Graphic composition with in the center, a view of the gardens and the Hassan tower in Rabat. The value "500" is repeated twice in black. The mention "State Bank of Morocco" is printed in black on a line in the frame at the top. The numbering and the alphabet are repeated at the bottom and at the top in small clear cartridges and are printed in black, as well as the date of issue. At the bottom, the value "FIVE HUNDRED FRANCS" and the article of law are printed in black. Back: Walls and columns decorated with arabic motifs opening on a door on the left and an arch in the center. All texts are printed in dark red. Two variants of signatures. The specimen is known perforated "SPECIMEN" dated 00-00-00 and numbered 0.00 - 00000. Another specimen with oblique surcharge in black "SPECIMEN" on ticket issued from the alphabet "F.1" dated 18-7-1949. Given the copy "F.1 - 96163".
