The SNB's translation texts are printed in brown on both sides and in four languages: Romansh, French, German and Italian. Front and back: Multicolored print predominantly brown. Front: in the foreground, a portrait of the physician, naturalist and poet "Albrecht von Haller (1708-1777)", after a painting by the Swiss painter Sigmund Freudenberger (1745-1801). To the left of the portrait, under the view, a view of the Gemmi Pass in Valais according to a motif of the Swiss map of Zurich naturalist Johann Jakob Scheuchzer (1672-1733). On the outside of the illustration, the three vertical bars in relief are intended to facilitate the recognition of the note by the blind. Three issue dates and nine variants of signatures with The Chairman of the Board and A member of the Executive Board. Back: composition in vertical. Both signatures are printed in brown. The value "500" is printed roughly in the vignette representing an anatomical description of the muscles of a human body seen from behind, a diagram of the respiratory functions and circulatory functions of the blood and a purple orchis in the foreground. The banknote number is repeated twice outside and inside the illustration and printed in black. The first two digits preceding the serial number letter indicate the date of issue. Known specimen perforated "SPECIMEN" in vertical, overprinted "SPECIMEN" in red and oblique on both sides. A three-digit specimen number is printed in black near the perforation. The banknote is still refundable until 01-05-2020. Other Reference: TBB (The Banknote Book): B341.
