Description of the front: in the center at the top, the words "BANK OF CENTRAL AFRICAN STATES" are printed in black. Below, the value in letters "FIVE HUNDRED FRANCS" is printed in black. The complete banknote number and value “500” are printed at opposite angles. The letters "L" next to the values "500" indicate the country of issue code for Gabon.
