The note was put into circulation from 24-11-2003. Multicolor printing on front and back. Texts in French. Description of the front: in the center at the top, the words "BANK OF CENTRAL AFRICAN STATES" are printed in brown. The full banknote number is printed twice in black at the top and bottom of the drawing. The letters "A" in black on the sides indicate the country of issue code for Gabon. In the center, four students in class and a fifth in the foreground on the right. The value in letters "FIVE HUNDRED FRANCS" is printed in brown in the center at the bottom.
