Dimensions: 172 x 112 mm. No security thread. Watermark: merino head from the front. Printer: Bank of France. Multicolored front and back printing, predominantly orange, red, blue and green. Description of the front: background composed of geometric patterns and arabesques in repetition. Texts in French and Arabic. On the right, the value in letters "FIVE THOUSAND FRANCS" is printed in a medallion with Coptic motifs. In the center, a view of the port of Djibouti and the city. In the foreground, the mosque and the Government Palace. The issuing institute "PUBLIC TREASURE - FRENCH TERRITORY OF AFARS AND ISSAS" is printed in dark blue in the center at the top of the drawing. The numbering is printed in black. The watermark is shown in an octagon decorated with patterns on the right. The note is not signed. Description of the back: background composed of geometric patterns and arabesques in rehearsal. Texts in French and Arabic. In the center, a view of a Old Mosque of Tadjourah surrounded by palm trees and plants. The value “5000” is printed in blue-green on a yellow background in the upper corners. Below on the left, a ram's head supports an octagon containing the watermark. On the right, an antelope head and cycad leaves frame the official labels of the issuing Institute. Center down below in the frame, the article of the penal code is printed on five lines in a blue rectangle. The specimen is known overprinted "SPECIMEN" diagonally with a specimen number, perforated "SPECIMEN" in vertical on the right and numbered "O.00 - 000". The 5,000 francs proof is known unnumbered.
