Front and back: multicolored printing. Front: The word "MARTINIQUE" is repeated in red and continuously in the margin around the banknote. The title is printed in dark blue and the values ​​"5000" in gray. Numbering and signature are printed in black. In the center, a West Indian woman presents a basket of fruits in front of a group of palm trees on the left. One signature: The Director General: A. Postel-Vinay. Back: group of people in full harvest of sugar cane. At the bottom left, article 139 of the Penal Code is printed in a gray cartridge. Specimen of the issued note numbered O.00 - 00000 with "SPECIMEN" diagonally perforated and two damp black pads in the upper corners. Number range of issued notes: 1 to 641,000.
