Mali. Bank of the Republic of Mali. 1967-1970 Issues. Second Type. Dimensions: 170 x 108 mm. Material: paper. Watermark: man's head. Printer: Thomas de La Rue, Limited. Yellow solid security thread. The note is dated September 22, 1960. Front and back polychrome print predominantly red and green. Texts in French. Description of the front: security background in red and green gradient and with repeating patterns. Guilloche frame with the value "5,000" printed in two rosettes in the corners. At the top, the words "BANK OF THE REPUBLIC OF MALI" are printed in dark red on a frieze. On the left, the watermark. The banknote number and issue date are printed in black. The letter value and signatures are printed in dark red in the center and below a rose in dark red. In the center, a plowing scene with two peasants and their two oxen pulling the plow. Below, the article of the penal code is printed on a line at the edge of a frieze. On the right, an official portrait of President Modibo Keita. A single combination of signatures with the Minister of State, Jean-Marie Koné, The Minister of Finance, Attaher Maïga and The Governor of the Bank, Alpha Oumar Cissé. Description of the back: guilloche frame with the value "5,000" in the corners and the value in letters at the bottom in a frieze. In the center, a view of the pink market of Bamako.
