Algeria. French administration. Bank of Algeria. Issuing period: 1938 to 1945. Creation date: 02-09-1938. Work by Carre and engraving by Emile Deloche. Dimensions: 145 x 92 mm. Watermark: version of the note with “BANK OF ALGERIA” continuously vertically. Front and back: multicolored printing. Description of the front: a frame of red and blue floral patterns in rehearsal. On the right, a couple of villagers in the shade of a tree and a view of the Algerian countryside in the background. The value “50” is printed in blue in the upper corners. In the center at the top, the wording of the issuing institute "BANQUE DE L'ALGÉRIE", the value "FIFTY FRANCS" and the date of issue are printed in red. The signatures, numbering and date of issue are printed in black. At the bottom of the ticket, article 139 of the Penal Code is printed in red inside a yellow cartridge.A type of signature with Sebald, Le Caissier Principal and De Roux, The Secretary General. Description of the back: a frame of red and blue floral patterns in repetition and the value "50" printed in red in the upper corners. In the center, a view of the ruins of the Colosseum of El-Djem in Tunisia and the village on a market day in the foreground. The specimen is known overprinted "SPÉCIMEN" in red and horizontally on the watermark, signed Sebald / De Roux, dated "00-00-0000" and numbered "0.000 - 000". A last identical specimen is known but overprinted "SPECIMEN" in red and oblique front and back.
