British West Africa. West African Currency Board. 1953-1962 Issues. 100 shillings = 5 pounds type 1953. Dates: March 31, 1953 and April 26, 1954. Dimensions: 166 x 100 mm. Watermark: Elephant head. Printers: Waterlow & Sons Limited, London. Solid security thread. Material: Paper. Multicolored front and back printing, predominantly blue, yellow and orange. Description of the front: Frame made up of guilloche shapes. View of the Niger River at sunset with its shores bordered by palm trees and lush vegetation. Series, signatures and numbering printed in black. Texts in English and Arabic. Two combinations of signatures with members of the Currency Board. Description of the back: Guilloche frame and palm branches. Texts in English. Wiew of palm fruit harvesting with three mens. The banknote dated 1953 is hard to find!
